System Training

Updated: Jul 6, 2023

System Training

Ever since I started work in the appraisal space, 9 years ago, the biggest struggle for any organisation and supplier is how to train thousands of users. There is nothing worse than users complaining they do not know how to use and get the most out of the system. This leads to infuriated, unengaged users who don’t want to use it.

Weekly System Training sessions are the logical answer, but how do you make sure you catch as many users as possible from dozens of different clients?

  1. Make it a simple session that applies to all appraisees and appraisers.

  2. Live demo in the system that they will be using, rather than death by PowerPoint.

  3. Opportunity to ask questions. No such thing as a silly question!

  4. Learn from questions raised and amend sessions to accommodate recurring themes.

Since purchasing the Equiniti business in 2020 and migrating thousands of users across into Appraisal and Revalidation for Doctors, we have successfully trained over 1500 doctors and counting.

Advantage to clients

  1. Administrators are busy enough without the need for them to train users. We can take away a lot of that burden from them.

  2. Great way to catch new starters be it administrators new to post or doctors new to revalidation and appraisal.

  3. Clients can take comfort in us taking away this burden and point the users in our direction for the training sessions.

I received the following feedback from a recent webinar:

“Thank you for the webinar yesterday Tim. It shows how uncomplicated the Appraisal and Revalidation system is: I feel confident that our doctors will be able to pick it up quickly.”
